Joining in the Global Celebrations

THE TIME OF YEAR TO CLEAN AND DECORATE OUR HOMES AND SCHOOLS

ALSO TO REMEMBER HAPPY TIMES AND DREAM OF SPECIAL TIMES TO COME

Such a treat for them to have Chicken and Chips

Christmas is not celebrated by everyone on our amazing Planet Earth. It’s not even New Year for everyone on the 1st January. But Cambodians absolutely love any excuse for a party so whatever you celebrate they love to do it with you.

A couple of the older students know where to go in their forest to find a bare branched tree which they bring a large branch back and paint white – for snow of course! - and decorate with their cultural origami – and the girls plan a special lunch, (this year sponsored by long term supporter couple) – menu voted on (democracy’s in place at ODA) and cooked by everyone - and then

CELEBRATE THEY DO!!!

This year was Chicken and Chips, but they like how they cook it better than bought chickens - so they all got together and served up a wonderful feast (of course every part of the chicken is eaten (including toe nails! – all the parts we discard they think are the most delicious!)

Cooking enough chips for close to 40 is no mean feat, but Lai Hun and the other older girls take it in their stride. They just don't know how to cook for two!

Education is a Priceless Gift and we take this time to thank you and everyone who has supported Lengs works, our teachers, students and schools over the years, but particularly through these challenging times.

May you all have a safe healthy New Year and have life return to some semblance of normality for us and our fellow resourceful human global inhabitants.

Earth is an amazingly special planet, and may we all assist each other to ride through the rough roads helping each other, as Leng teaches his students. They then see it reflected in the support you all give to assist them to improved futures from education.

With so many families struggling due to lack of employment, our kids are very aware how lucky they are to be having full meals three times a day and a rice pot to spoon out of, if the hungry's get them in netween meals.

Akun Tom Tom to you (Thank You Big Big)

and may you have a

Very Safe, Healthy and Happy 2022.
