Opening the Doors to Education

GIFT THE OPPORTUNITY OF EDUCATION

WITH ODA’S EDUCATION SUPPORT PACKAGE!

In Cambodia, children are required to wear a uniform to attend government school. Many families rely solely on subsistence farming and can’t afford this essential item. That’s why each year, ODA holds a Uniform and Education Fundraiser to provide poor and large families with uniforms and educational support materials.

NO UNIFORM = NO SCHOOL

2023 So excited and happy to be able to attend school

For newer supporters, ODA runs this program each year to ensure kids from subsistence farming villages, many of whom attend our free English and IT classes, can begin or continue their full Khmer education

children all try uniforms on to ensure they have the correct sizes\

Monks bless all the children in line with Khmer custom.

A donation of $20.00 gives a student the opportunity for a full year of schooling, breaking the cycle of poverty and opening doors for their future.

2023 Such happy teenagers are able to continue on at school and improve their future prospects

Many of these students attend our free English and IT classes, but without a uniform, they can’t pursue their Khmer education. Two uniforms plus sneakers and socks are a total of $20.00.  This support directly changes lives, helping students achieve their potential and contribute to their communities.

2023 Happy students all kitted out for another year at school. Critical at these ages for them to be able to continue

Huge thanks to all our past supporters and let’s continue making education accessible for these young learners again for a year!

THIS MONTH’S SUCCESSES AND CHALLENGES

SUCCESSES

Ratha and Leap, our 2 wonderful teachers who won their place in the Thai University Practicum. We are so proud of you both and lucky to have you teaching and mentoring ODA students

Teacher Exchange Program and Community Impact

  • Two of our dedicated teachers were selected by Siem Reap University to participate in a teacher exchange program with a Thai university. One teacher spent two weeks at the Thai university, fully funded, while the other represented Siem Reap University on campus here. This was a valuable learning experience for both teachers, and we are proud to have such talented educators on our teacher team. Their success serves as an inspiration to our students, encouraging them to pursue higher education.

  • Village and Commune Chiefs have reported that ODA graduates are finding paid employment and returning to their communities to support their families. This positive impact is rippling through the entire community.

  •

  • CHALLENGES

  • To Focus on Conducting a Successful Uniform and Education Funding Project 2024.

  • This assists so many larger, poor families, and allows the students to have the opportunity of an education to change their future employment prospects. We find there are many intelligent students – they just need the opportunity to make the most of their natural ability.

Support Students here:

  • A $20.00 donation funds a student’s uniform and learning materials for a year
