IGNITING A PASSION FOR LEARNING,
AI IN ODA VILLAGE SCHOOLS

A BEACON OF HOPE

SUCCESS AFTER TEACHER TRAINING AND INTRODUCTION TO AI ASSISTED LESSON PLANS.
Vanessa, Jess and our lucky teachers. Not only the amazing workshop but they presented our teachers with backpacks filled with materials for use in the two days.
Leng is so excited to share this news with you. In a groundbreaking workshop, generously led by Vanessa, Head of School, and Jess, Head of Science, from The Overseas Family School in Singapore, our teachers gained invaluable modern teaching strategies.
The two-day workshop covered effective teaching principles, emphasizing well-planned, engaging lessons, and introduced Kagan strategies. Teachers explored SMART objectives and discovered AI platforms like BRISK, which can create presentations, lesson plans, and quizzes in seconds.

wo days of well planned activities to involve our teachers and ensure their ability
to deliver on to their students
Teachers were amazed by AI's ability to generate professional-quality resources rapidly. They enthusiastically embraced these tools, designing AI-integrated lessons with remarkable improvement in their capabilities. Our Schools Manager noted that a task that used to take hours can now be done in minutes!

Using the AI to deliver top quality class visuals and cutting preparation time back to minutes.
We are incredibly proud of our teachers' dedication to using AI to enhance their teaching and deliver a high-quality education to our students. This is a huge step forward for education in our remote villages.

ODA teachers all had the opportunity to create material linking workshop segments relative to their students levels.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Vanessa and Jess for their generous sharing of expertise. Huge thanks and gratitude also to all our supporters in particular for supporting the schools structure for ODA to build our education platforms on for these disadvantaged young people. Although not so sure disadvantaged is the right context after this amazing workshop!
Celebrate this huge step with us all here.
A BEACON OF HOPE:
AI Illuminates learning in our village schools

We are so proud of our teachers enthusiasm in embracing this world changing AI assisted learning
Imagine a classroom where the teacher, empowered by AI, crafts lessons that speak directly to each student's needs. This is no longer a dream, but a reality blossoming in our village schools, thanks to the amazing teachers workshop above led by Vanessa and Jess.

2020 Leng and ODA team at a typical village home. They were delivering rice during Covid to needy families thanks to a wonderfully kind Australian supporter.
To truly grasp the magnitude of this leap, picture the setting: homes with palm-thatched roofs meeting the sky, or corrugated iron offering shelter, often with dirt floors beneath. Electricity, a single light bulb, is a luxury many families can't afford due to minimum monthly fees. Yet, within these humble dwellings reside minds as bright and eager as any in the world, ready to grasp the opportunities that education offers.

Traditional farming employment for village communities is now not widely
available due to mechanisation on larger farms.
As mechanization shifts the landscape of local farms, our youngsters, with wisdom beyond their years, seek avenues to uplift their families. They see the tangible results: ODA graduates securing stable, salaried employment, their success rippling through the community, bringing prosperity not only to parents and siblings but the flow on through the village services as well. They understand that the free classes offered by ODA are a crucial step on their path to a brighter future.

AI will now make their future shine even brighter, bringing higher quality education to even the most remote areas, like our village schools actually setting the new standards where, so far, we don’t hear of anything similar in government or other NGO operation schools.
The challenges of delivering 32 free classes daily across the 8 ODA village schools and relying on monthly donations is not for the faint hearted! But Leng’s reply is always “If children need – we will find way!”
This transformative step is made possible by the Singapore Overseas Family School and the unwavering support of all of you, our kind friends. Free classes have to be funded somehow and it’s your contributions which help keep our classes running month by month, allowing ODA to embrace and present innovations like this AI workshop. We extend our deepest gratitude to those of you who support operations enabling us to equip our teachers and students with the funds and tools they need to shine month by month. Thanks to you, the light of education burns ever brighter in our villages, illuminating the path to a future filled with hope and opportunity.
